There is a pernicious attitude that holds sway beneath the surface of society — unexamined, and secure only by the fact that it remains unexamined — that disabled people are sexless. We, and I use the majestic plural because I am myself disabled, are not discriminated against. We are removed from the equation entirely. I will not give a long diatribe about why this is wrong, not merely because that would be too self-serving, but because someone else has made the case better.
